ICT in teaching – blogging

Having already experimented with using a blog fort he teaching of literature in English, this part of the ICT in Teaching course was only partly of great use to me. Following my initial experience with the use of blogs, for future literature classes, I would make sure that the students know from the beginning what is expected of them and make the use of the blog part of the homework. For instance, I would use the blog as a collection point for ideas, reviews, analyses, links, information and comments. Furthermore, I would involve students a lot more, i.e. make them partly responsible for the blog, in order to make it a mutual point of input and source of information for the reading of a piece of literature.

Of course, a blog is a great way of communicating directly with students outside of the classroom – and reading plan and other homework can be uploaded to make sure that students don’t forget what they are supposed to do…
